A Snapshot of Your Day

In your role as Head of Field Service Malaysia you will be part of a strong regional Field Operations team in Asia-Pacific. You will lead and work with a team of Field Service Managers and a dedicated team of over 60 Field Engineers in Malaysia responsible for the provision of services to our Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generator fleet and our Oil & Gas assets in the region.

Your focus will be on day-to-day operational topics supporting project implementation, resourcing, planning of outages, tools and devices required for our activities as well as on strategical development of the Field Service Organization in Malaysia and the collaboration and integration into the global network.

Aside from your usual daily activities, you may be involved in development activities and projects to improve working conditions, efficiency, or other aspects of our global organization. You work closely with multiple stakeholders within and outside of the Region Asia-Pacific to drive improvement initiatives and represent your country or the region Asia-Pacific as requested by regional management.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Managing the Field Service Organization of Malaysia in-line with local and regional market and stakeholder requirements including:
  1. Strategic resource planning,
  2. Tactical and strategical development of the team’s capabilities and competence
  3. Operational and administrative resource and performance management,
  4. Compassionate, focused, and balanced people management,
  5. Utilization management,
  6. Keep team motivated and cultivate open communication,
  7. Absence coordination,
  8. Coordination of trainings and certification with and in PCC’s and OJT
  • Drive integration of FS Malaysia into relevant Siemens Energy Field Service Global and regional standards and communication, IT landscape, tools, systems, and processes.
  • Alignment between regional and local outage planning, on resource deployment, and capability development within domestic and AP regional markets
  • Proactive balancing of FS utilization requirements, team member fatigue management, project performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Asset management and CAPEX planning for the team on relevant assets, tools including strategic and operational planning and development, forecasting, and reporting,
  • Represent FS Malaysia as face-to-the-customer and internal stake holders.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement with appropriate programs and actions, motivational and control measures funneling ingenuity and experience of the FS Malaysia team into tangible process, EHS and other improvements and report in PUMA web or other relevant reporting.
  • Build a positive HSE and Quality culture in Field Service Malaysia and within partner and customer organizations through engagements with HSE, pro-active problem solving and reporting.

What You Bring

  • Proven track record in one or several of the following fields in the Energy Sector: Sales, Project Management, Field Service, Technical Support, Factory Operations. Demonstrated managerial experience in at least one of the areas is required.
  • Hands-on Field Service experience in the role of an on-site FSR is beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant on-site, sales, project and back-office processes, standards, and requirements, bold to challenge the Status Quo, and implement best-in-class solutions in a diverse, multinational professional environment.
  • Strong communications skills to enhance transparency and collaboration with external and internal partners. Existing networks with the relevant partner organizations (Field Service in SE, Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Factories & Operations in SE) will be a benefit.
  • Profound understanding of project and organizations target and improvement strategies to drive positive impact within the team for project success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving competence with focus on balanced, pragmatic solutions based on profound technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills and experience, an affinity to technology and innovation and the willingness to fast-track if required.
  • High level of intrinsic motivation, resilience, and personal engagement to achieve general, organizational and project specific targets.
  • Strong understanding of different contractual constellations and local regulations and their successful transformation into service execution.
  • Adopting, building, and leading excellent long-term customer and subcontractor relationships.
  • Proven record in organizing and implementing Field Service capability improvement measures, training, and organizational development projects.
  • Team player with the ability to work, communicate effectively, transparent, and respectful (fluent English written and oral) and solve problems under pressure in a sophisticated environment, collaborating with international and culturally diverse teams.
