Global Head of Technology Management

A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our Grid Technologies Product Management (GT PRM) team and take the helm of our global technology innovation agenda. You begin your day reviewing critical developments across Portfolio 2035, identifying technology opportunities, gaps, and acceleration levers. You translate these insights into clear priorities with Execution Units and R&D leads.

Throughout the day, you collaborate closely with innovation specialists, product owners, engineering experts, and external partners to drive rapid prototyping and fast test-and-learn cycles that bring disruptive grid technologies to life. You and your team refine the GT Technology Radar and Roadmap, ensuring future‑focused clarity and alignment with Siemens Energy’s long‑term strategy.

You also evaluate strategic M&A and partnership opportunities that could speed up technology development, reduce time-to-market, or fill capability gaps. You close your day by preparing executive recommendations that blend internal innovation, external technology scouting, and investment decisions – ensuring GT stays ahead in shaping the global energy transition.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Own and evolve the GT technology strategy and roadmap, including the GT Technology Radar, ensuring long‑term alignment with PRM, Execution Units, and Siemens Energy’s strategic priorities.
Lead and develop a high‑performing global technology and innovation team, fostering a culture of curiosity, disciplined experimentation, and fast test‑and‑learn cycles to accelerate breakthrough grid technologies.
Steer Portfolio 2035 and GT‑wide innovation governance, translating technology opportunities into prioritized, resourced, and executable multi‑year development plans.
Assess and drive strategic external acceleration levers – including M&A opportunities, venture pathways, and technology partnerships – to improve speed‑to‑market, close capability gaps, and strengthen GT’s innovation advantage.
Oversee the complete GT innovation and R&D portfolio, including budgeting, prioritization, business case evaluation, IP strategy, and cross‑functional change management.
Ensure transparent classification, alignment, and follow‑up of all PLM product, solution, and service R&D initiatives, promoting cross‑unit decision clarity and strategic coherence.
• Steer the GT Expert Community within the Siemens Energy Expert Program (SEE), strengthening knowledge leadership, capability development, and global collaboration across expert domains.

What You Bring:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience in technology innovation, R&D strategy, or technology management within complex, global organizations.
• Deep expertise in grid technologies, energy systems, or adjacent industrial domains.
• Strong track record in portfolio governance, R&D planning, technology investment, and prioritization.
• Demonstrated ability to drive rapid innovation cycles and establish environments conducive to experimentation and iterative learning.
• Experience evaluating M&A opportunities, partnerships, or external technology scouting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills – able to align diverse groups behind a unified technology vision.
