A Snapshot of Your Day
In the role of Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your advanced and specialized knowledge of gas turbines and auxiliary equipment, as well as quality engineering guidelines and processes in order to participate in various inspection activities. You will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Offer combustion turbine knowledge and expertise to division management, customer management, product line management and suppliers and lead teams of field service engineers, technicians and craft labor personnel in the installation, repair maintenance and fixing of combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators at various customer sites.
- Prepare and issue detailed reports regarding scope executed, the condition, repairs performed and recommendations for customer equipment and perform check list inspections and compile records to document condition of equipment and assure quality.
- Perform specialized, technician level work in the field in one or more of the defined specialty tasks: i.e: exchange of turbine/ compressor blades and vanes.
- Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).
- Manage team members to disassemble, inspect, conduct repairs, and assemble gas/steam turbines and work closely with supervisors, and fellow employees and assist them as required.
- Effectively identify technical or schedule problems as they occur and take appropriate actions to resolve including addressing customer concerns for more complex issues
What You Bring
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Bachelor’s degree) with professional Experience (7+ years) as a Mechanical Field Service Specialist, in gas turbine maintenance or related engineering field.
- Fluent English writing/speaking for communication is preferred with technical Knowledge on combustion turbine and associated auxiliary systems.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of time (sometimes required to travel on short notice).
- Experience reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, and written work instructions/procedures is required with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software particularly Excel, Word and Project
- Ability to work in team and individual environment. Must have ability to develop client relationships, display excellent listening skills, and maintain a positive attitude and strong emphasis on quality of work and Siemens Energy values. Analytical, detail oriented, well organized, self-motivated with strong customer focus and ability to handle pressure and have a service mind
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Dominican Republic without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees may be eligible for internal transfers.
