A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Field Service Engineering – Controls/Commissioning Specialist Professional, you’ll split your time between the office and customer sites, supporting projects from planning to commissioning. Your day could include reviewing outage reports, coordinating with engineering teams, preparing technical proposals, and working with customers to tackle equipment like steam turbines and gearboxes. Whether your scheduling field service resources, reviewing contract scopes, or training operators, you’re the link that keeps projects moving efficiently and equipment performing at its best.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Reporting to Euro Head of Projects – assisting in day to day needs of the Euro Steam business
- Collaborate with external customers
- Work with external/internal suppliers
- Coordinate engineering activities
- Support Field Service Engineers with needed documentation, engineering reviews
- Review Field Service Reports
- Identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up
- May resolve/solve implementation problems and/or train customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased
- TSE can be involved in all activities in estimating needs, quoting needs, planning needs and help scheduling of field service activities and resources in relation to outages on Rotating Equipment that we service. This can include Steam Turbines, Gearboxes, Auxiliary equipment and Generator equipment
- The TSE is expected to review contract scope and other user documentation to establish the required and optional work scope for a maintenance outage.
- The TSE will work with Siemens Engineering, Project Managers, Resource Coordinators and Customers in planning and implementing outage activities.
- The TSE shall attend customer meetings when warranted to discuss and present outage scope of work, schedule, including proposals reviews.
- This is primarily an office based position with 50% expectation to travel to customer sites as needed for commissioning based field activities
What You Bring
- Mechanical background - college degree (B.Sc.) or equivalent competence gained through experience
- Knowledge of MS Office applications
- Good English language skills both verbally and written is a minimum requirement, having more language skills is a plus
- Global attitude. Strong intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with teams around the globe
- Able to work independently in a multicultural environment and demonstrate ownership of tasks.
- Positive can-do demeanor and ability to work in an environment with meaningful demands which requires prioritization of activities
