As a Data Architect/Data Strategy Lead in Siemens Energy's procurement department, you'll focus on utilizing data to optimize procurement strategies, emphasizing sustainability and cost efficiency. Your work significantly enhances decision-making, streamlining operations, and supporting Siemens Energy’s sustainability goals. Within a collaborative and innovative team environment, your data-driven insights contribute to impactful outcomes for the company and its mission towards sustainable energy solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Analyze and evaluate new and emerging technologies to resolve their potential impact on data architecture and strategy
  • Lead the transformation effort to standardize the delivery management and enabling technology landscape within Procurement to achieve cost efficiency and service delivery performance
  • Develop and maintain data architecture and data governance standards and guidelines
  • Ensure high data quality standards by implementing a sound system to monitor and correct data quality issues in alignment with the respective process teams.
  • Design streamlined and optimized data architecture that align with our organization's data strategy and covering the business needs.
  • Detail the data architecture both technical (diagram and workflow) and management suitable manner.
  • Develop a roadmap for implementing data solutions according business needs
  • Ensure the implementation of the data architecture across the teams, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is integrated and available across the organization
  • Ensure data security and privacy by following and aligning data security policies and procedures with the Cyber Security team
  • Work with stakeholders to identify data requirements and develop data models

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture and strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organized, ability to work independent and within a team to achieve given objectives
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and data management principles
  • Experience with database management systems, data warehousing preferably Snowflake, and ETL processes (using SQL, Alterxy, Python)
  • Strong SAP background with focus and MM Module, ideally including experience with S4
  • Experience with other SAP Solutions like ARIBA. MDG is a plus
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices
  • Experience with cloud-based data architecture solutions (AWS, BI Tools, UI tools) and Machine Learning is desirable
  • English, German a plus. International working experience preferred
  • 10 – 20% business travel (international & domestic)
