A Snapshot of Your Day 

The Business Manager is the voice of the customer into the overhaul shop and takes ownership to ensure the customer demands are executed successfully during the Gas Turbine Overhaul Project shop visit. This position reports to the Head of Program Management. The Business Manager is supported by all necessary functional departments to ensure the customer needs and the A65 Portfolio needs are delivered and communicated in an efficient and profitable manner.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

The Business Manager is the single point accountability for the regional teams and factory, interfacing with operations, supply chain, engineering to drive overhaul excellence and regional counterparts to manage customer communications on repair and overhaul performance. Your principal accountabilities will entail the following:-

Planning and Organizing

  • Liaise with the Head of Parts, Demand and Inventory, and work with the supply chain function(s), to ensure an inventory level(s) are sufficient to meet the Gas Turbine Overhaul demand plan.
  • Ensure maximum margins are achieved through low-cost material and component repair opportunities while minimising future operational risk.
  • Develop an regular client communication plan and ensure this is executed in conjunction with LTP Project Managers or Regional teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, key decision-makers, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in negotiations and LTP renewals with customers, suppliers, and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the company.
  • Act as the main Interface with our Manufacturing, Engineering and Project management teams to define the scope of projects and the resulting implementation plans.
  • Monitor company/departmental/key process KPIs and take action should a negative trend.

Technical / Manufacturing

  • Together with the Manufacturing Team, ensure that Gas Turbine Overhaul Projects are delivered on time, at the highest level of quality and correct cost levels.
  • In conjunction with the Manufacturing Team, ensure the business is equipped to meet the technical demands, capacity and capability for overhauling aeroderivative gas turbines.
  • In conjunction with the Customer Facing Project Management team(s), provide the required governance to ensure that the Authority to Induct (ATI) information and outputted Work Instructions that reflect the requirements of the agreed customer work scope(s) are provided.
  • On-Time to the Manufacturing Organisation.

Health & Safety / Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all business activities related to the Gas Turbine Overhaul Project are conducted in accordance with QHS&E requirements.
  • Perform regular QHS&E Management tours.

General

  • Encourage and support all Company-driven Lean Six Sigma projects.
  • Ensure administration duties related to the Gas Turbine Overhaul Project are carried out effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively within the key departments (Manufacturing, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain) and provide support and assistance to other staff/suppliers where appropriate.
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required to meet the needs of the Gas Turbine Overhaul Project.
  • Ensure Compliance with all Company policies.
  • Actively highlight any improvement opportunity that may contribute to ensuring the safety of our people, improve quality standards, and take care of the environment.
  • Fully investigate and close out any improvement opportunity raised for the attention of the team, identifying and implementing corrective/permanent fix actions.
  • The role will require travel to the region(s) the Business Manager is responsible for being the advocate for all customers.

  • Customer satisfaction, Financial and Budget responsibility for the Gas Turbine Overhaul Project.

What You Bring

  • Good working knowledge of Gas Turbines, their applications, and associated equipment, particularly within the context of overhaul projects.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Project management skill APM or similar
  • Highly organized.
  • Thorough understanding of HS&E issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills 
  • Proficient in both English and French.
