A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Business Controller within Siemens Energy Grid Technology Substations, you will oversee the coordination and optimization of financial performance by analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing essential support on controlling‑related matters.
Your role involves close collaboration with the local Romanian Grid Technology Finance team as well as regional colleagues, working directly with the GT Substations finance responsible for Romania and the GT Substations finance responsible for SEE. Your responsibilities include offering financial guidance, preparing budgets, developing forecasts, and conducting financial analyses to support strategic business decisions. You will also play an active role in driving the automation and optimization of controlling processes within Grid Technology Substations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide support across various reporting topics, cost center controlling, and general controlling activities such as forecasting and planning
- Assist with monthly forecasting and ensure accurate, high‑quality, and timely forecast preparation
- Handle data collection and processing, including accurate inputs into SAP and other controlling tools
- Analyze financial data and independently perform critical assessments of Actuals and Forecasts in line with GT Substations requirements
- Create reports, dashboards (SAC and various Dash tools), presentations, and other management‑relevant materials
- Verify financial figures, ensure plausibility, and deliver well‑founded commentary to support decision‑making
- Promote automation and optimization of Free Cash Flow and Asset Management processes, as well as other control‑related topics
- Conduct transparency‑enhancing measurements and contribute to “preventive action” activities to strengthen financial governance
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance/Accounting, or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with SAP and other financial systems, as well as controlling tools such as Smart Reporting and BA Dash
- Strong proficiency in digital tools, including Alteryx, Jedox, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret and visualize complex financial data for multiple internal stakeholders
- Solid understanding of business operations and financial impacts, with the ability to independently prepare facts and figures for management
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and ability to collaborate across different countries and time zones
- Advanced English skills suitable for work in a multicultural environment
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
