As Grid Studies / Power System Study Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced power system studies, grid compliance assessments, modelling, simulation, benchmarking, and validation activities across onshore and offshore power systems. The role involves working with industry-standard simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD, and MATLAB/Simulink to support engineering design, grid code compliance, New Product Development (NPD), and customer delivery activities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  •  We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grid Studies / Power System Study Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team supporting renewable energy, onshore and offshore wind projects.
  •  Power System Studies & Grid Compliance Perform load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, dynamic stability, transient stability, RMS, EMT, and frequency domain studies.
  •  Evaluate compliance with Grid Codes and developer-specific requirements for renewable and offshore wind projects.
  •  Conduct studies related to Fault Ride Through (FRT), voltage stability, reactive power capability, frequency response, inrush current, fast transients, and equipment overloading. Support grid integration and grid code compliance activities for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and Power Plant Controllers (PPC).
  • Model Development, Benchmarking & Validation activities: Develop, benchmark, and validate detailed simulation models for WTG, PPC, and electrical network components.
  •  Perform benchmarking and validation activities for strategic NPD programs and customer projects.
  •  Support DLL generation, model tuning, verification, and performance validation activities.
  • Maintain standardized study models, simulation databases, and version control practices.
  •  Simulation & Automation Utilize DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, and MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and analysis activities.
  •  Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, C, and C++ for simulation execution, testing, and reporting activities.
  •  Contribute toward CI/CD-based development and automation initiatives using GitHub-based workflows.

What you bring

  •  Prepare detailed technical reports including benchmarking, validation, and grid compliance documentation.
  •  Create simulation summaries, single-line diagrams, technical presentations, and engineering recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Support preparation of customer deliverables aligned with industry standards and quality requirements.
  •  Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with global engineering, controls, testing, and product development teams to integrate study outcomes into design deliverables. Support technical discussions with internal stakeholders and customers for project execution and compliance activities.
