A Snapshot of Your Day
This temporary Accounting Trainee position is being filled as a replacement to ensure business continuity and provide cost-effective support for the local Accounting team in Budapest. To meet these objectives, the role will concentrate on two primary areas: providing hands-on support for daily transactional accounting tasks and assisting the team with financial closing and reconciliation activities. This structure ensures essential operational duties are covered while offering a valuable learning experience. Given the focus on foundational accounting support, the ideal candidate will be a current student or recent graduate in Finance or Accounting, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a proactive willingness to learn within a corporate finance environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 60% Transactional Accounting Support:
- Process and book incoming and outgoing invoices in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Assist in the preparation of payment runs and support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Perform data entry and maintain the integrity of financial records and master data.
- Handle administrative tasks related to accounting documentation, including filing, scanning, and archiving.
- 40% Financial Closing and Reporting Assistance:
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing basic journal entries and gathering supporting documentation.
- Assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts under supervision.
- Help prepare basic reports and analyses for senior accountants and management.
- Collaborate with the team to provide necessary information for internal and external audits.
What You Bring
- Ongoing or recently completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- No prior professional experience required; relevant internships or academic projects are considered a plus.
- Fluency in Hungarian and professional working proficiency in English are required.
- Basic Accounting Principles
- Data Entry Accuracy
- Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Familiarity with ERP Systems (e.g., SAP)
