A Snapshot of Your Day

As the PLM Expert at our brand‑new Power Transformer manufacturing facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, you’ll be at the heart of a major digital transformation from day one. This is a rare opportunity to help build and shape PLM capabilities from the ground up as the factory comes to life.

You’ll partner closely with local engineers and the global PLM program to implement Teamcenter and redefine how transformer designs move from concept to production. Your days will be spent collaborating with engineering teams, learning how they design and work today, and guiding them toward smarter, more connected, and more efficient digital workflows.

This is a highly hands‑on, on‑site role that begins alongside the facility’s construction and ramp‑up. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy being visible, influential, and deeply embedded with the team—especially during the exciting early stages of launching a new operation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead a foundational PLM transformation by transitioning the organization from drawing‑centric to part‑centric product lifecycle management. Your work will enable seamless integration with enterprise systems such as SAP and MES, unlocking advanced manufacturing capabilities and long‑term scalability.
  • Analyze, map, and improve engineering workflows, identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and best practices that accelerate product development and strengthen change management.
  • Serve as the go‑to Teamcenter expert for the Charlotte engineering team—supporting implementation, data migration, and process optimization to ensure the system delivers real, day‑to‑day value.
  • Drive change and adoption by engaging stakeholders, delivering targeted training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll help teams confidently embrace new digital tools and ways of working.
  • Collaborate with the global PLM program, aligning local execution with enterprise standards while tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of a new factory environment.
  • Enable engineers to focus on innovation and quality by providing clear digital workflows, reliable product data, and responsive support throughout the entire product lifecycle.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, product development, or manufacturing, with a strong track record in process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Teamcenter PLM, applying it in real engineering or manufacturing environments to improve workflows, data management, and user adoption. (Deep technical configuration experience is not required.)
  • Proven success in process mapping, change management, and technology adoption within engineering or manufacturing organizations.
  • A solid understanding of PDM concepts, part‑centric design principles, and PLM integration with ERP and MES systems.
  • Prior engineering design experience in any discipline, with the ability to quickly learn and understand transformer design processes.
  • technical concepts into practical, actionable solutions.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams through complex change, building alignment and momentum across diverse groups.
  • Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, NC, if not already based in the area.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. (Siemens Energy employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer.)
