A Snapshot of Your Day

Join us in a pivotal role where you will delve into the fascinating world of gas turbine engines. Imagine investigating the microstructural evolution of thermally exposed specimens and service-exposed components, correlating these changes with time and temperature. Engage in hands-on experiments, utilizing advanced techniques like frequency scanning eddy current testing to measure electrical conductivity. Your work will not only enhance our understanding of material properties but also contribute to the maintenance programs that ensure the reliability of our turbine discs. This is your opportunity to make a significant impact in the energy sector while supporting innovation and sustainability.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Evaluate data from frequency scanning eddy current testing to measure the electrical conductivity of materials.
  • Conduct microstructural examinations to identify measurable indicators that link microstructure to thermal exposure time and temperature.
  • Develop a working instruction for sample preparation, metallographic examination, and image analysis, ensuring precision in experimental work.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team at Siemens Energy in Finspång, utilizing scanning electron and light optical microscopes for analyses.

What You Bring

  • Pursuing a master’s degree in materials science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in metallography and materials characterization techniques.
  • Analytical skills and comfort working with data from various measurement techniques.
  • Advanced English proficiency, enabling effective communication in a global team environment.

About the Team

If you are ready to take on new challenges, develop your skills, and be part of a supportive and inclusive team, we look forward to your application!
