A Snapshot of Your Day 

As cyber security lead engineer you will be involved in the projects with full responsibility for engineering and consulting in the field of communication network and cyber security concerning substation automation and grid control center applications like SCADA/EMS/DMS inc. IoT solutions in mainly transmission and distribution business.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Understanding the customers’ needs and be the representative for the entire project lifecycle focusing on functional and technical capabilities in all phases, from bid phase to end of life for the software systems. 
  • Responsibility for implementation of the requirements of the Product Solution & Security (PSS) Guide into the respective system/solution
  • Responsibility for evaluation of Product & Solution maturity level of the engineering organization and definition of measures for improvement of the maturity
  • Review of documents generated during the and design and service process (e.g. threat and risk analysis results, requirements specification, architecture and design, test specification, user documentation) in context of applied product & solution security standards
  • Specification and maintenance of security requirements for the system/solution. Support for meeting international and regional security standards and regulations (like IEC62443) in the energy automation projects
  • Working proactively in close cooperation with overall project managers, technical project managers and specialists, i.e., electrical network, control and protection.
  • Evaluating different build in concepts, with respect to technological and commercial aspects 
What You Bring
  • University degree in computer science or information and communication technology/systems or a comparable technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of Cyber Security and Certifications as well as training such as CISSP/GIAC/SANS are helpful as well as a good understanding of OT networks and security
  • Willingness to learn about energy automation solutions, industrial networks and security standards and best practices for industrial applications
  • Deep knowledge of IT/OT security technologies and concepts (e.g. firewalls, VPN, ACL, IPS/IDS, B&R, SW applications, etc.) as well as embedded systems
  • Knowledge of the relevant standards such as IEC62443 is an advantage
  • Result-oriented with strong analytical thinking as well as team player and customer-oriented
  • Fluent English skills and experience in working in intercultural teams, German language skills are an advantage
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
