Enjoy dealing with uncertainty and ready to make a difference? We are looking for a dedicated teammate to support our field teams in managing project and operational risks for North American Field Service operations.
As a Work Instruction Engineer - Specialist Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting our District Service Offices and Field Service Teams throughout the planning, execution, and completion of service projects (outages) for fossil and combined cycle steam turbines. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate the development of work package content for the Steam Turbine IPS product line, acting as a product line expert to help teams navigate any challenges they encounter, especially related to the Siemens Westinghouse fleet. You will be dedicated to meeting the needs of our Steam Turbine customers by providing comprehensive work packages, expert guidance, and ongoing support.
In this position, you will play a key role in reducing risks to personnel, equipment, and overall project performance, while also seeking opportunities to improve deliverables. After outages are completed, you will ensure that work packages are updated and that all content is accurately maintained.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Serve as a power user in the creation of content for the Steam Turbine IPS.
- Develop and maintain data sheets for the Siemens Westinghouse fleet.
- Oversee the development, testing, and rollout of new systems designed for the next generation of work packages.
- Provide training and coaching for Field Service personnel. Offer support to the Scheduling and Estimating team. Act as a 24/7 facilitator to assist outage teams.
- Support limited field operations at customer sites to promote best practices.
- Assist the field service organization as a technical support resource or field engineer during peak outage seasons when demand is high.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of field experience as FSE or PM performing Steam Turbine work.
- Positive, firm demeanor and a questioning approach; strong organizational and facilitation skills. Effective interpersonal and communication abilities!
- Excellent Field Service experience working on steam turbines.
- Proficient with SAP OPP (and/or Fleet Configuration) with the ability to find technical information including other proprietary information (Process Specifications, Field Procedures, Field Bulletins, etc.).
- Must be willing to dispatch to job sites and travel (planned events and no more than 20% travel). Must work from an NA SO office, preferably Orlando.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
