How You'll Make an Impact

Apprentice Management

  • Responsible for the recruitment and selection of apprentices in line with business requirements.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Apprentice Training program.
  • Ensure apprenticeship standards are met to improve Levy recovery.
  • Plan and complete department workload, balancing internal and external resources to minimize costs.
  • Provide pastoral management, ensuring the safeguarding and well-being of learners.
  • Coordinate health, safety, and environmental standards for staff and learners.
  • Monitor apprentice progression through critical metrics to ensure successful and timely completion of programs.

Graduate Programme

  • Support the development of Graduate Training Programmes.
  • Liaise with internal departments to support graduate recruitment and selection.
  • Collaborate with SE Learning and Development teams to support the Graduate community.

Team Management

  • Line manage and develop training staff and technical instructors.
  • Ensure skill levels across the team meet business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Cost Management

  • Manage overhead and cost recovery, accurately authorizing departmental budgets and keeping them within budget.
  • Coordinate the recovery of Levy through funded vocational training.
  • Improve the recovery of the ECITB Training Levy.
  • Manage all 3rd Party associated costs.
  • Proficiency/Abilities Management
  • Manage the end-to-end SE GS Training provision.
  • Coordinate, book, record, and evaluate all training requirements.
  • Liaise with department managers to support employee up-skilling.
  • Maintain the SQEP process in line with business requirements.

Collaborative Relationship Building

  • Work closely with SE Professional Education to meet operating objectives and apprenticeship standards.
  • Represent Gas Services with SE Learning & Development on all training and entry-level talent topics.
  • Foster partnerships and successful collaborations with external bodies and collaborators.
  • Liaise with training providers regarding sourcing, evaluation, quality control, and cost-effectiveness of training courses.

STEM Engagement

  • Collaborate with schools, skills working groups, and educational establishments to coordinate and deliver successful STEM programs.

What You Bring

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant field or possess equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within an HR/Training environment.
