A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Technical Product Developer for Mechanical Design Tools at Siemens Energy, you are responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine the mechanical design tool landscape, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the business. You engage in problem-solving sessions, leveraging your knowledge of multiphysics approach and transformer design thinking to enhance the design of mechanical components of transformers (e.g. leads, clamping, tanks, etc.). Your role is pivotal in driving the unification of tools, aligning them with the product management vision and business objectives. During team stand-up meetings, you align with product owners and developers on the current progress and challenges, contributing to deep technical requirements and software future-proofness of the proposed engineering tools solutions. You dive into the intricacies of power transformer design software, focusing on translating complex engineering requirements into robust software solutions. Your expertise in broad view of engineering needs and backend solutions and mutual requirements allows you to streamline common mechanical design tools landscape and vision. Your clear communication of status, issues, and successes will be vital as you contribute to the strategy of “connecting efficient factories,” improving Siemens Energy’s competitiveness.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Utilize your deep understanding of power transformer design to influence the development of cutting-edge mechanical design tools.
- Lead the translation of engineering requirements into software development needs, focusing on software architecture and tool connectivity.
- Collaborate effectively within a scaled agile framework, supporting product owners in clarifying and unifying the tool landscape.
- Drive innovation by integrating complex calculation capabilities, such as multiphysics solvers, into the design process.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the development team.
- Contribution to the Siemens Energy transformer business, emphasizing quality, efficiency, and sustainability as part of the “Transformer Tools Engineering Infrastructure” team.
What You Bring
- A Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field (PhD degree highly welcome), with a strong emphasis on power transformer design.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in developing software for power transformer design, with expert knowledge of engineering tools.
- Proficiency in software architecture, and the ability to transcribe engineering requirements into software specifications.
- Experience with multiphysics solvers and complex calculations for transformer component design.
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential, together with the ability to collaborate with international teams and a willingness to travel internationally.
