You’ll join an interdisciplinary team based out of several time zones that prides itself in its ability to deliver business relevant insights towards decarbonization and the energy transition underpinned by effective visualizations of market data.  Connecting electricity market & Siemens Energy fleet data to bring a unique voice to the challenges faced by our colleagues in Sales, Strategy/Business Operations, Product Development, & Long-Term Program (LTP) Service Operations in selected markets in Region EMEA and APAC. 
At Prescriptive Marketing, we are continuously monitoring our focus Power Markets (Renewable/non-Renewable Generation, Demand, Thermal Supply, Exchange) and associated Fuel Markets (Oil, Coal, LNG Gas, CO2) as well as major news and reports. 
The Team Lead in Market Analysis and Modelling leads by example and works with a team who will digest this information in the form of assumptions to be fed into our Power Plant Dispatch Model in order to visualize and analyze the results and explain what this means to the Siemens Energy fleet and product portfolio.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Lead data-driven analytic efforts that combine internal commercial & technical insights with market insights to optimize power generation assets under a variety of market scenarios
  • Guide, supervise and develop a team of energy market and business analysts, data and IT professionals in the development and validation of our energy market model, as well as plant/product valuation forecasts carried out with our commercial power market forecasting software
  • Engage with regional business partners as well as the internal marketing, sales and strategy customers to understand their needs, identify the analytic options and efforts and implement the agreed approach within budget and schedule
  • Collaborate with Siemens Energy domain experts, data scientists and data and development platform team members 
  • Support Market Strategy and Competitive Intelligence with Market and Plant-Level Simulations including the impact of policy changes on the Siemens Energy fleet
  • Assist negotiations by conducting Project-Specific Business Cases for optimal ROI
What You Bring
  • University Degree (Master preferred) in Economics, Business, Engineering Data Analytics Fields, Policy or Computer Science
  • Longstanding relevant experience in Energy Markets (trading, portfolio management, M&A, analysis) gained from a utility, commodity trader, energy project developer or financial institution
  • Experience in EU power market economic analysis along with a good understanding of its dynamics and regulations. Familiarity with the Asian and Middle Eastern markets is an advantage
  • A deep understanding of how power and capacity markets operate is required as well as expertise in utility resource planning, asset valuation, market forecasting & market assessment
  • Software experience with Plexos, BID3, Woodmac EPSI or equivalent, as well as knowledge of data analytics, statistics and visualization, preferably also some knowledge of machine learning or AI
  • Knowledge about power generation technology/power plants (both fossil and renewable) and storage is an advantage
  • Leadership & presentation skills as well as willingness to learn and continuously improve your skills in both your energy market domain and Team Lead expertise
  • Fluent German and English skills 
Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and 
decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, 
steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, 
modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
