A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) you influence I&C/Electrical equipment supplier decisions and work with suppliers to develop them in alignment with Siemens Energy's needs for capacity, capability, and cost. You excel in a diverse team of engineers, fully bringing to bear the expertise of both the team and you.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Be the point of contact for the I&C / Electrical equipment Global Commodity Manager in developing procurement strategies and project planning, supplier identification, capability assessment audits, driving standards and bringing in new I&C / Electrical equipment related technology; Typical products are Thermocouples, LV Motors, Switchgears, Battery Storage Solutions etc. Siemens Energy implements a wide range of different products with worldwide applied codes and standards.
- Lead a distributed team of Supply Quality Engineers in collaborative learning and training.
- Supplier / Product and Process Qualification: Mostly be the technical Lead, and sometimes the main lead, in multi-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ). Leading involves planning, tracking, and reporting project achievements, along with budget and resource requirements.
- Be a key expert in improving and developing strategic Suppliers and supporting critical technical issues by being a creator and owner of a commodity/technology network.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical, industrial engineering or a similar field.
- 3+ years of experience in supplier quality management, procurement, I&C / Electrical environment or in a related role.
- Experience performing supplier qualification, product/ process qualification & technical supplier development to provide a global quality-assured and cost-effective supply base.
- Experience in leading projects and running virtual multi-functional teams in an international environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (Domestically & International).
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
