A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest quality standards, lead supplier qualifications, and resolve non-conformance issues – all while developing strong working relationships with global suppliers to support business continuity and product excellence.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead product and process qualification (PPQ) activities at supplier sites.
- Manage and resolve quality issues related to non-conforming supplier components identified at Siemens Energy Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) facilities, warehouses, or customer locations.
- Oversee root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to assess manufacturing capability and ensure robust quality systems are in place.
- Drive supplier development to meet current and future product quality and manufacturing requirements, investigate and address manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to maintain delivery performance and mitigate risks.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities in partnership with the Strategic Business and Supply Chain teams. Contribute to product manufacturing improvement through regular on-site presence at supplier locations
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in quality, mechanical, electrical engineering or in a related field.
- Experience working with or within manufacturing facilities and on critical components (e.g. discs, shafts, complex assemblies).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management systems (e.g. ISO9001), and inspection methodologies.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering teams to ensure component manufacturability. Proven ability to manage multiple complex investigations and supplier quality issues from start to finish.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools and quality improvement methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial.
- You will be required to travel up to 50% to supplier/vendor sites
