A Snapshot of Your Day

In your new role, you act as the expert for the tax treatment of employee share programs, ensuring compliant and efficient structures across a complex international landscape. You collaborate closely with colleagues from Compensation & Benefits, Tax, Legal, Finance, and external advisors to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions.

You assess tax implications and risks, monitor legislative changes, and provide clear guidance on topics such as cross-border participation, mobility, and withholding. Supporting global initiatives like new plan designs and M&A activities, you ensure tax is considered from concept to execution.

At the same time, you align stakeholders across regions, improve tax reporting and compliance processes, and drive consistency. Through your expertise, you help shape a transparent and future-ready share plans environment.

How You’ll Make a difference

  • Act as the global subject matter expert for tax implications of employee share programs, including long-term incentive plans and employee share purchase programs
  • Monitor and interpret evolving tax legislation and regulatory changes across relevant jurisdictions and proactively assess their impact on employee share programs
  • Assess and manage tax risks related to equity compensation, including mobility-related taxation, cross-border participation, withholding obligations, and permanent establishment considerations
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize tax-compliant frameworks for equity-based compensation programs, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations (e.g. income tax, social security contributions, capital gains tax)
  • Prepare and review tax-related disclosures and filings in connection with employee share programs, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
  • Lead and support global compensation and benefits projects with a strong tax focus (e.g. plan redesigns, legislative changes, M&A transactions, integrations, divestments)
  • Drive process improvements and automation in tax reporting and compliance workflows, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate closely with Global Compensation & Benefits, Legal, Finance & Accounting, and Payroll teams to ensure accurate tax treatment, reporting, and withholding
  • Prepare decision papers, tax memos, and impact assessments for senior stakeholders and governing bodies
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and authorities across jurisdictions, ensuring consistent, compliant positions and high-quality service delivery

What You Bring

  • University degree in Tax, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or comparable qualification; professional tax certification is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience in international taxation, ideally with a strong focus on equity compensation / share-based payment taxation within a multinational environment, consultancy, or advisory firm
  • Deep understanding of global tax principles affecting employee share plans (e.g. timing of taxation, sourcing, withholding, social security interactions)
  • Proven ability to navigate complex, ambiguous tax situations and challenge existing concepts with pragmatic, compliant solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence advising senior management
  • Ability to synthesize complex tax data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Excellent analytical skills; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, experience with tax tools or HR systems is a plus
  • Fluent in English; German is an advantage
