A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Strategy and Portfolio Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy Grid Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and driving portfolio strategies, identifying opportunities and gaps, and generating innovative ideas to advance our business. As the deputy of the Head of Strategy and Portfolio Management, you will play a vital role in shaping the success of Grid Technologies today and in the future.
In this role, you actively shape the success of Grid Technologies today by working on the business’ strategic direction and portfolio vision of tomorrow.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You start your day by exchanging with the Market & Competitor and Finance team about the latest market trends and data reports to assess how our portfolio is performing and where we can improve.
- After the meeting, you prepare a portfolio scenario and recommendation document that summarizes the portfolio evaluation and its benefits, risks, and implications. You use clear and compelling arguments and visualizations to convey your message and persuade your audience.
- In the afternoon, you have a call with our American factory cluster head to discuss and test your hypotheses to make sure your defined portfolio strategy and corresponding actions are implementable.
- Before you end your day, you prepare a presentation for the upcoming board meeting and you send the document to the executive board member, who will review it and provide feedback.
- You wrap up your day by going for dinner with an US colleague which is in town.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in (Electrical) Engineering or Economics/Business Administration or related field.
- Long term experience, with at least 3 years of experience in management consultancy.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and business development with the ability to develop and deliver projects and corresponding presentations with multi-layered content.
- Demonstrated superior analytical skills that sparked impactful solutions with the ability to assess complex situations and understand key issues quickly.
- Effective communication skills to position ideas and deliver key messages to all management levels in the company as well as with external stakeholders combined with excellent English and German language skills.
