About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Your day begins with a brief stand-up meeting over coffee to discuss challenges and achievements. You then join a virtual meeting with the bid project team to strategize grid access for a new hydrogen production plant.
In the afternoon, you collaborate on an internal R&D project to develop grid access strategies for a next-gen electrolyzer, engaging in lively brainstorming sessions. You also participate in a conference call with grid operators to discuss future grid codes and electrolyzer compatibility.
Before leaving, you prepare for a committee meeting to represent Siemens Energy, ensuring the company’s views are well-articulated while collaborating with various units. Your role as a grid connection expert for hydrogen production plants emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on grid code requirements and conformity of electrolyzers
- Shaping the electrolyzer grid code conformity process for large plants
- Supporting projects regarding grid access strategy along the full project lifecycle (from bid to decommissioning)
- Driving the development of electrolyzers for future grids
- Exchanging with relevant regulatory bodies, certification bodies and grid operators on future requirements
- Representing Siemens Energy in relevant committees, and taking part in conferences and trade fairs
What You Bring
- Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, with strong focus on electrical power engineering, power electronics, grid simulation or system/control stability
- Several years experience in grid conformity process for renewables or similar
- Experience in the development of EMT and/or RMS simulation models in PSCAD, DIgSILENT Power Factory or Matlab Simulink is a plus
- Background in electrolysis applications preferred as well as highly self-organized and reliable with a solution-driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills and ready to represent the group internally and externally with good negotiation skills
- Good great teammate in a multi-disciplinary international environment. Ready to travel internationally
- Strong communication skills in both English and German
