A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Controls Engineer, on a typical day within the Loads and Controls team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, you will work on developing, tuning, and validating advanced turbine control strategies using aeroelastic simulations, field data analysis, and automation tools. Your day may involve setting up and running aeroelastic simulation workflows, analyzing turbine response and controller performance, identifying optimization opportunities, and proposing control enhancements to improve energy production and reduce structural loads. You will collaborate closely with global teams across loads, software, and turbine design to solve complex engineering challenges and support validation activities on operational turbines.

In addition, you will contribute to controller certification activities by preparing technical documentation, supporting compliance analyses, and participating in technical reviews. Through your expertise in controls engineering, simulation-driven development, and data analysis, you will directly support the delivery of innovative and reliable wind turbine solutions that accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As part of the team, you will contribute to the development, optimization, and validation of advanced wind turbine control systems.

  • Work with aeroelastic simulation tools similar to Flex5, Bladed, or OpenFAST to evaluate and improve turbine control behavior.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across loads, software, mechanical, and validation engineering to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink-based tools and automation workflows for controller tuning, validation, and performance analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvements in control methodologies, simulation workflows, and engineering processes while ensuring adherence to engineering quality standards and best practices.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Contribute actively to technical discussions, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the global engineeringorganization.

What You Bring

As a part of the Loads and Controls team in Bangalore location, you will execute projects in collaboration with global engineering teams across Denmark, Spain, and other Siemens Gamesa locations.

  • Experience with aeroelastic simulation and control tools such as Flex5, Bladed, or OpenFAST is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Knowledge of Python, LaTeX, distributed version control systems such as Git or Mercurial, and agile development tools such as Jira will be an added advantage.
  • Strong expertise in controller tuning, stability margin analysis, and parameter optimization techniques.
  • Compliant, systematic, self-initiative, team player and consistent with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in all verticals with multicultural international stakeholders.

Eduction & Experience

You must have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering from a recognized institute.
You should have minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in controls, preferably within wind turbine technology or renewable energy applications.
