About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking an experienced senior accountant with a focus on digitalization to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, combined with a passion for using technology to enhance analysis and improve efficiency. The accounting business partners are the first point of escalation for the business regarding accounting topics; including: order entry, revenue recognition, project accounting and other technical accounting matters. We help facilitate the alignment of accounting topics with the business areas, headquarters, and the external auditors!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Acts as a trusted advisor to the business in North America for all accounting topics, with a focus on order entry, revenue recognition and project accounting.
- Support in the monthly reporting of critical metrics and in the review of financial reporting, using digital tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy (Alteryx and Power BI)
- Assist in application and implementation of approved accounting policies for assigned organizational units, in line with respective legal/regulatory requirements (i.e. IFRS). Assist in accounting training for North America personnel. Assist in operational improvements for accounting related topics in North America by using digital solutions.
- Coordinate with internal partners and external auditors during the accounting close process and support North American business units with accounting memos to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Assist the team in integrating the wind power business area with the legacy gas & power business areas. Assist in assessing and implementing system changes as required due to global or local changes in regulations or operational improvements.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience. IFRS accounting knowledge. Big 4 and public accounting experience is a plus. Professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) strongly preferred and Project Accounting background a plus.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools desirable (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau).
- Work experience of SAP advantageous for this role. End-to-end understanding of business processes in ERP landscape (e.g. SAP FI, CO).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and dynamic work environment. Proactive self-starter with a strong ability to own projects and processes independently
