About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
The Senior AI Architect will lead the architecture, strategy, and accelerated delivery of an enterprise AI/GenAI platform. This role is responsible for defining the target AI architecture (cloud/hybrid), establishing reusable patterns and guardrails, and enabling rapid onboarding of high-value AI use cases across functions. The architect will collaborate with product owners, data/platform teams, security, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, compliant, and cost-effective AI solutions. The role requires strong hands-on experience with modern AI technologies (GenAI, RAG, agents, MLOps/LLMOps) and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical designs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
AI Platform Strategy & Target Architecture
- Define AI platform reference architecture (data, model, orchestration, APIs, security, observability).
- Build a multi-year roadmap to scale AI capabilities and accelerate time-to-value.
Solution Architecture & Use Case Enablement
- Design end-to-end architectures for GenAI and ML use cases (RAG, copilots, multi-agent workflows).
- Provide “golden path” templates (blueprints) for faster, consistent delivery.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Establish architecture standards, risk controls, and governance for model usage, data access, privacy, and responsible AI.
- Partner with cybersecurity and legal/compliance to ensure regulatory alignment.
MLOps/LLMOps & Engineering Excellence
- Set up CI/CD patterns for model lifecycle, prompt/version management, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Define performance, reliability, and cost optimization practices.
Technology Evaluation & Vendor Management
- Evaluate models, tools, and platforms (open-source, commercial, cloud services) with clear selection criteria.
- Guide build vs. buy decisions; support procurement and vendor technical due diligence.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as a technical leader/coach for engineers and solution teams; raise overall AI engineering maturity.
- Communicate complex technical decisions in clear business language for senior stakeholders.
Operationalization & Scalability
- Define SLAs/SLOs, observability dashboards, incident patterns, and support models.
- Ensure platform scalability for multi-team adoption and enterprise rollout.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8–12+ years in software/solution architecture, with 3–5+ years in AI/ML platform engineering and production deployments.
- Proven experience building and scaling enterprise platforms (cloud/hybrid), working with security and governance at scale.
Technical Skills (Must Have)
- GenAI architecture: RAG, embeddings/vector databases, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, agentic patterns.
- AI/ML engineering: model lifecycle, feature pipelines, model serving, monitoring, evaluation, drift detection.
- MLOps/LLMOps: CI/CD, model/prompt/version management, automated testing, A/B testing, experiment tracking.
- Cloud & platform: Azure/AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, microservices/APIs, event-driven architecture.
- Data & integration: data lakes/warehouses, ETL/ELT, API integration, identity/access (IAM), secrets management.
- Security & compliance: data privacy, encryption, RBAC, secure SDLC, responsible AI and risk controls.
- Observability & performance: logging/metrics/tracing, reliability design, latency optimization, cost optimization.
Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with enterprise copilots, internal developer platforms, and reusable AI accelerators.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and governance models (e.g., auditability, model explainability).
- Experience leading federated delivery models and enablement across multiple business units.
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Strong stakeholder management, ability to influence senior leadership and align cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication—able to simplify complex topics and drive decision-making.
- Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving, mentoring, and delivery focus
