A Snapshot of Your Day

The primary job requirements of this position are to perform a wide variety of hand skill operations to disassemble / re-assemble turbine rotors and related parts to meet engineering drawing requirements.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Work independently and with teammates to complete blading, welding or various other tasks to new and service repair Steam Rotor Turbine components.
  • Perform a wide variety of operations including but not limited to disassembly through air arc and manual methods, operation of sand blast and hone equipment, and re-assembly of turbine rotors and related parts to meet engineering drawing requirements.
  • Conduct metal deformation processes via machine and manual methods for rivet forming. Also, conduct various machining operations using manual milling machines, surface grinders, mag base/radial drills for sizing, fitting rotating air foils, and induction heating for component assembly.
  • Weld and braze activities for joining blade lugs and assembly of blade erosion control.
  • Use precision instruments to measure frequency, temperature, and size for assembly, fitting and final product quality checks.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to resolve challenges and find solutions.

What You Bring

  • Sound knowledge in the use of basic shop math, reading complex drawings, specifications and use of various precision instruments
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required along with 3-5 years of experience in close tolerance handwork.
  • Must possess or pass associated 6G weld test
  • Have ability to obtain fork truck and critical lift crane licenses.
  • Current possession of, or ability to obtain (within a reasonable amount of time) Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate - Silver Status is required
