A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Procurement Buyer at Siemens Energy, your day will be dynamic and impactful! You will be deeply involved in all procurement activities, internal as well as supplier meetings, ensuring that our business targets are met with efficiency. You will work on exciting projects, manage supplier relationships, find opportunities to automate and digitalize the supply chain operations to improve operational efficiency. The selected candidate will also coordinate with procurement and other functions, ensuring compliance with procurement processes, all while ensuring flawless execution!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop / Implement a sourcing plan to optimize overall value proposition in accordance with sourcing strategies (in particular pooling, utilization of master contracts and/or using ANC (Advance Negotiation Concept) incl. eAuction.
  • Prepare and conduct negotiations (with or without the assistance of the Project Procurement Manager) to obtain the highest feasible savings basis ‘Total cost of Ownership’ principle;
  • Lead the procure-to-pay (P2P) process following defined processes, Procurement guidelines, reporting requirements
  • Lead regular supplier meetings across projects for the commodities assigned and ensure continuous coordination with Project Procurement Manager and other functions (such as Project Manager, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing etc.)
  • Responsible for change order management, PO maintenance with status updates, Invoice/ payment issues resolution, investigating and resolving supplier caused non-conformances. Support claim negotiations as needed.
  • Coordinate domestic / international shipments and support the customs clearance group to provide accurate supplier documentation.

What You Bring

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree (engineering / supply chain preferred) plus 3 + years of experience, OR if no degree, equivalent experience; a Master's degree in an engineering / supply chain and a minimum of 1 year of experience is also preferred.
  • Experience managing high value purchases in an engineered-to-order business environment is preferred .
  • Proficient with SAP MM modules, MS Office suite, etc. is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of contractual purchasing terms and conditions, and its application.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level with changing priorities.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (Domestic / International) as required.
