About the Role
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage the project throughout the project Life Cycle until final acceptance (FAC):
- Handles milestones and adherence to budgets and initiates actions to minimize non-conformance cost
- Ensures set up and maintenance of the Siemens Energy Project Management Plan including Quality Management Plan
- Involves the relevant partners in the sales/ project initiation phase
- Builds directs contact, interfaces and relations with customer´s relevant interfases of all project matters
- Calls for and actively supports an adequate handover from Proposal / Sales to execution, analyzes customers’ requirements and examines their commercial and contractual feasibility
- Performs contract reading and derives actions concerning risks, opportunities and contractual obligations
- Ensure alignment and appropriate competence on the technical solution and integration of the scope sub-systems with emphasis on the project results (e.g. in line with specifications, budget, quality, schedule, resources, EHS)
- Agrees targets and work packages with project staff and delegates defined work packages
- Setting-up a proper project planning with clear focus on critical time constraints, control the schedule on a regular basis by consulting all relevant project members
- If applicable to the project, ensures proper ramp up and execution of site activities (e.g. coordination of agreed commissioning measures onsite together with Site Manager)
- Holds regular project status meetings and organizes acceptance of milestone work results
- Documents all work results according to the valid standards
- Safegueard implementation of the acceptance (tests) and final project handover
- Is responsible for quality, EHS for the entire project
- Ensures an adequate handover phase to after sales / service
- Manage Customer Requirements:
- Manages customer expectations and solving issues; identifies/creates additional opportunities out of the ongoing projects
- Actively gathers information on customer strategies (focus on budgets, expansions etc.)
- Consults with customers on technical solutions
- Manages resolution of technical and / or commercial issues
- Clarifies customers' targets and requirements, and/or specification in request for proposal (RFP) and leads negotiation with customers
- Regularly performs lessons learned activities and feeds the results into own project and organization
- Informs customer, management and project team of deviations from project plan.
- Leads and manages all assigned project staff:
- Agrees targets with project staff and delegates defined responsibilities and authority
- Holds and seeks actively feedback (e.g. team members, managers, customers)
- Takes responsibility for own and supports team-members' work/life balance
- Inspires and motivates Project Team members
- Provides guidance, clarity and project updates to Team (e.g.: recognition on achievements and roadmaps for overcoming challenges)
- Supports team-members' personal development (eg. Target setting process)
- Involves direct reports of project team in relevant project issues
- Demonstrates leadership interculturally, sets stretching goals and achieves beyond
- Facilitates and monitors effective team collaboration (e.g. via coaching)
- Fosters ownership culture within the project team
- Manage stakeholders
- Actively builds up relationship
- Communicates with customer's high seniority representatives / senior management
- Communicates with stakeholders with different cultural background
- Ensures efficient communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, i.e. HR, Quality Management, EHS, suppliers, consortium partners etc
- Establishes a stakeholder project impact-/mitigation study
- Conducts stakeholder analysis and manages efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders in different countries
- Communicates cross-organizationally on opportunities for improvements
- Actively manages and solves conflicts
- Deals effectively with potential target conflicts between regional and parent organizations
- Ensures alignment between the technical and finance counterparts on all project aspects
- Supports the setup of the project procurement and the project logistic strategy.
- Manage risks, contracts and claims:
- Assesses and manages contracts
- Negotiates with stakeholders on Change Requests and incorporates them into contracts
- Involves the assigned project members in the identification of changes and claims
- At an early stage identifies, drives, defends and mitigates claims. Proactively sets up a contract and claim management,
- Identifies, assesses, responds, monitors, reports, escalates all project risks and opportunities
- Devises suitable strategies for risk mitigation
- Implements procedure to solve major issues with all necessary internal and external partners prior to project disorientations
- Monitors the progress with an integrated KPI tracking to enable early warning of project disorientations
- Supports the implementation of lessons learned/ root cause analysis into project and the organization
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree engineering (Electrical & Electronics Engineering).
- 10+ year practical experience is required in the 400kV Gas Insulated substations.
- Successful completion of studies (Bachelor, Master degree) or similar educational qualification in a business field related to Project Management (e.g. engineering, business administration, economics)
- PMP/ IPMA certification is preferred.
