A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Manager – Lean Expert, you will ensure business continuity within the Blades & Vanes business unit of our Tampa Operations manufacturing facility by applying project engineering principles to drive operational excellence and support strategic objectives. This role combines two core functions: leading Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, and managing engineering projects from conception through completion. This dual focus ensures that both incremental improvements and larger-scale projects are executed effectively to enhance productivity and quality. Given the emphasis on process optimization and project execution, the ideal candidate will bring significant experience in project management methodologies and Lean principles within a manufacturing environment, along with a strong engineering background and the ability to independently manage complex projects while influencing cross-functional teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Analyze existing manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for improvement using Lean methodologies.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement events (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to drive efficiency and quality gains.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact and sustainability of process improvements.
  • Coach and mentor shop-floor and office personnel on Lean principles and problem-solving techniques to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of engineering projects, including scoping, planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., production, quality, procurement) and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve operational problems, and manage stakeholder communications to ensure project success.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in project management and/or continuous improvement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Strong project and process management capabilities, including planning, implementation, workflow optimization, scoping, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills with familiarity in mechanical engineering and quality assurance.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and lead effectively across cross‑functional teams.
  • This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
