A Snapshot of Your Day

Project Manager for Grid Automation is responsible for managing projects in the areas of Protection, Automation, and Control as well as Grid Management Systems. In this position you are accountable for project results based on the strategic priorities and set goals (e.g., budget, quality, schedule, EHS) over the project life cycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Handling customer expectations and requirements with respect to functionality and overall quality of the provided solution.
  • Ability to lead projects by working in close cooperation with internal or external customers throughout all the phases from contract negotiation to project handover.
  • Fully responsible for Risk, Opportunity, Financials and Schedule Management by devising suitable strategies for Risk Management.
  • Implementing framework to ensure regular checks of the compliance in the project including conducting Project Reviews.
  • Responsible for influencing formulation of the necessary contracts, negotiating with customers on change requests and incorporating them into contracts as well as the subsequent contract and claim management.
  • Lead Technical and commercial discussions internally and externally related to the project.
  • Develop, update and track project schedule during life cycle of the project.
  • Support Sales function by assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives to ensure project feasibility.
  • Coordinate with supplier, back-office engineering team and stakeholders
  • Provide reliable forecast planning of project financials.
  • Conduct project budget reviews, manage project costs, and provide accurate input for cost forecast to completion, budget variances and proposed mitigation plans.
  • Continued support of business development and client acquisition.
  • Travel Domestically and internationally up to 15-20% during FAT and SAT

What You Bring

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or Business ideally with background in Electrical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, Project Development, with significant experience in the substation or Power Industry is required.
  • Ability to develop risk analysis and mitigation plans, cash flows, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Project controls (estimating, cost and schedule experience) and familiarity with commercial transactions.
  • Sound knowledge of business management principles, practices, procedures, and strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/MS Project), Salesforce/CRM, SAP and Primavera.
  • Experience substations and EPC business will be plus.
  • PMP certification license preferred.
