About the Role
- Take full ownership for the on-time delivery of permit documentation according to BImSchG
- Take full entrepreneurial responsibility for delivering and managing large EPC projects in the Power Plant Solutions business, including cost, schedule, functionality, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Report to the responsible Business Manager and lead the overall project scope, covering gas and steam turbine generators, heat recovery steam generators, instrumentation and control, electrical equipment, machinery equipment, civil works, and installation packages across all phases from design, procurement, manufacturing, and installation through to commissioning
- Own risk, opportunity, and issue management end-to-end by defining robust mitigation strategies and actively converting challenges into value-creating opportunities
- Contribute actively during the bid phase, ensuring that risk assessments are carried into project execution, bid costing is reviewed for financial robustness, and technical, commercial, and contractual requirements are managed with an entrepreneurial focus on value, risk, and opportunity
- Lead negotiations with stakeholders on change requests and their contractual incorporation
- Drive Project Excellence@Siemens Energy planning elements and milestone work results, set up and maintain the Project Management Plan, and define and control the project team’s adherence to the QA and HSSE plans
- Manage customer expectations and requirements with clear accountability for functionality, quality, and the overall value of the provided solution
- Ensure efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders and foster transparent, targeted, and inclusive communication within the project team to build trust, alignment, and shared ownership
- Establish a framework for regular compliance checks across the project and promote a culture in which compliance, accountability, and responsible decision-making are owned by the full team
- > 60 months of international project management experience leading complex A-type projects with full delivery ownership
- University degree within mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or other equivalent engineering sciences
- Long-term experience in project management methods and tools, with proven exposure to power projects and complex EPC business environments
- Strong leadership experience, including people management, development, team motivation, and the ability to create a project culture in which the team takes ownership and delivers as one
- Proven commercial mindset and solid understanding of project economics in the power business, with the ability to act entrepreneurially within the project framework
- Proven EHS Leadership and advanced know-how in Compliance Regulations as well as expert knowledge of international rules and regulations relevant for Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management and Global Procurement
- Business fluent English and German skills, expectation of extensive amount of travel as well as experienced in the German permitting process BImSchG
- Project Director certification for A Project roles, or willingness to obtain the required certification in line with Siemens Energy / IPMA project management standards
