A Snapshot of Your Day

The role focuses on four core areas: comprehensive project financial planning and setup, diligent cost monitoring and control throughout the project lifecycle, account receivables management (e.g. invoicing and follow up) and proactive forecasting and reporting. These functions are critical for maintaining the financial health and predictability of our service projects. Given the focus on financial oversight and reporting, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in project cost control, budgeting, and variance analysis.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Follow-up and Reporting of Account Receivables and Overdues
  • Management of Master Data within ARE of responsibility
  • Continuously monitor project costs, commitments, and invoicing activities against the established budget and forecast.
  • Perform regular variance analysis to identify, investigate, and report on deviations, underruns, and overruns.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for all project-related financial transactions.
  • Analyze cost data to determine the root causes of differences between initial estimates and final project costs.
  • Establish and maintain budgetary control systems and financial documentation for service projects in the Nordics region.
  • Create and manage the project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) within SAP to ensure accurate cost allocation and tracking.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers during the initial phases to define project budgets, financial baselines, and cost structures.
  • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including cost trend analysis, cash flow forecasts, and project status updates for management.
  • Communicate significant financial deviations, potential risks, and opportunities to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, and engineering departments to gather accurate data for cost projections and forecasts.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Approximately 1-3 years of professional experience in project controlling, cost engineering, or a comparable financial role within a project-based business.
  • Financial Management & Analysis: Budgeting, Cost Accounting, Variance Analysis, Forecasting, Cost Benefit Analysis
  • Project & Process Management: Project Cost Control, Work Breakdown Structure, Project Documentation, Risk Analysis,  Internal Controls
  • Systems & Tools: SAP Applications, Power BI
