A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Program Manager, Cost-Out - HL Gas Turbines, you will lead and manage cost-out projects for the HL-class gas turbine product line, directly supporting the organization’s financial and strategic objectives. This role focuses on comprehensive program management of cost-reduction initiatives, cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, and rigorous financial analysis and reporting. You will ensure that projects within your program are effectively identified, planned, and executed from concept through implementation. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience in managing large, complex projects in an industrial or engineering environment, with a strong background in cost analysis, value engineering, and stakeholder management essential for success.
How You’ll Make an Impact
· Identify, evaluate, and prioritize cost-reduction opportunities in collaboration with engineering and product line management to enhance overall project efficiency.
· Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for cost-out initiatives, including defining scope, schedules, resource allocation, and budget management.
· Support project execution from conception to implementation, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and financial targets while conducting risk management activities to identify potential obstacle.
· Assign responsibilities and foster collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, procurement, external suppliers and Service departments (e.g. repair) to achieve project goals.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for all program-related communication and forecast final project costs and savings, while preparing and presenting regular status reports on project progress, milestones, budget adherence, and ROI to senior management.
· Lead and/or support local (at your site) efficiency projects around the HL product e.g. in respect to procurement and/or manufacturing processes.
What You Bring
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Business Administration, or a related technical field, with sufficient experience in product cost management considered in lieu of formal education.
· Recognized subject matter expert with over 8 years of experience in project management, product management, manufacturing processes or value engineering, preferably within the energy or heavy industrial manufacturing sector.
· Proven experience in managing large, complex projects with limited oversight, demonstrating a track record of delivering results in a cross-functional environment.
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus to validate project management expertise.
· Strong leadership and communication skills, with a dedication to continuous improvement and innovation, enabling effective collaboration with teams.
· Ability to apply networking skills and occasionally travel (approximately 15% travel) to support project initiatives, along with good presentation skills for effective stakeholder management.
