SGT A35/A20/Power Turbine Service Product Manager
Based in Warwick (UK), Houston (US) or Montreal (Canada)
About the role
The SGTA20/A35 service portfolio product manager owns the product roadmap for the A20 and A35 service business. With a large installed fleet, this position plays a fundamental role in protecting existing business revenues & profit, as well as helping to define the future product growth strategy for the portfolio. The role will require working in close collaboration with multiple interfaces in Product management, Engineering, Business development, strategy, LTP & M&U Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain and not least customers.
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of Services' business case and product requirements covering the A35 & A20 portfolio, including power turbines. You will submit the business cases through the yearly R&D budgeting process and own the product development budget for the service portfolio.
You will drive ideation through understanding the technology, product cost, market & customer requirements, identifying market opportunities to develop product-market fit and/or obsolescence road maps that align to the business strategy of the portfolio.
You will assess existing product attributes for competitiveness and develop product requirements for new programs.
Working in collaboration with engineering, you will monitor product development delivery against committed program milestones and work with the PMO team to mitigate project delivery risks, budget arisings and resource constraints.
You will act as gate keeper for relevant PDP reviews and gates as well as final approval for any product bulletins relating to the frame.
Working with the GSO commercialisation team, you will help develop business cases for new service upgrade product developments. You will also work closely with the portfolio target cost manager to understand the product cost position and help develop strategies to close product cost gaps.
You may be required to work with LTP proposals to provide bid support for both fleet and new unit proposals. In addition, you will model product lifecycle costs for new market applications or new operating profiles.
The Product Manager is also expected to represent Siemens Energy at customer events such as user groups or symposiums, in addition to some direct customer meetings. You will promote new product offerings & support NPI via sales & marketing training and/or direct customer updates.
What You Bring
- Degree qualified. (Engineering and/or business related field )
- 10+ years’ experience with specialist knowledge spanning technical, product and/or commercial groups with a specific emphasis on AGT products.
- Able to work on an autonomous basis and possess excellent written, verbal communication and project management skills.
- A working knowledge of AGT products, customers and commercial structures.
- Strategic thinker, with good data analysis, road-mapping, networking and prioritisation skills.
- Knowledge of Siemens Energy Sales and product development (PDP) processes.
- Able to influence at all levels of the organisation internally and externally to AGT.
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, & Excel
- Understanding of regional/local business/customer/competition practice.
