A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Development Engineer, you will be exposed to a wide range of projects and tasks dealing with the development and manufacturing of high voltage circuit breakers as well as the implementation and commissioning of those products with customers. The local department is relatively small which allows for a culture of mentorship and open feedback. We also are part of a global R&D network so while we focus on local products, we also work with global teams for development and testing of new products and technologies. Because of this, there are numerous opportunities available for continued learning and career development.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Designing, testing, and implementing high voltage circuit breakers
  • Create and maintain product manuals and other technical documents
  • Plan and conduct mechanical and electrical tests for circuit breaker products
  • Provide technical guidance and training for manufacturing, quality, application engineering and order engineering groups
  • Participation in relevant standards committees and interact with global counterparts
  • Work with customers remotely or at customer site to configure and commission Siemens Energy products.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or higher
  • 2 or more years of Engineering design experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level
  • Experience with CAD software (i.e., Inventor, AutoCAD, ProE, etc.)
  • Experience in high voltage equipment, circuit breaker, energy or utility industry is a plus
  • Experience with project and schedule management

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
