A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Logistics/Buyer Specialist you will focus on both tactical and strategic execution and continuous improvement of international and domestic import/export Logistics tasks supporting the Strategic and Operative Procurement teams in Orlando, FL. You will solve short term issues, creating huge value for our factories and customers, and you will work with the global logistics teams to develop and implement long lasting improvement projects. You will become an expert of all transportation modes (road, air and ocean) and adjacent logistics areas, like warehousing or export/import processing, interacting with a wide network of internal and external colleagues and partners, while applying and improving numerous state-of-the art digital tools. In addition, you will have procurement responsibility for a specified scope of GT Blade & Vane components.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Acting as interface to logistics service providers for specific scope and monitoring logistics spend, identifying and implementing opportunities.
  • Rolling out digital tools across global suppliers.
  • Providing logistics expertise to procurement including documenting supporting import / export of parts. Working with procurement and strategic logistics on optimizing international logistics (e.g. mode changes, consolidation).
  • Support in Export Customs and Control related topics as needed, including VAT.
  • Managing the engineered container program (potentially).
  • Places and maintains purchase orders and requisitions daily to support production needs.
  • May be involved with all or some of the following daily: supply chain management, MRP, inventory management, risk management, import-export shipments, rework material, etc.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field or several years of experience managing Logistics. Experienced knowledge about Logistics processes, with emphasis on international and domestic transportation.
  • Deep understanding of current Logistics environment and chains. Solid SAP system knowledge as a user.
  • Excellent ability to apply different digital tools for reporting, data collection, progress tracking.
  • Advanced analytical skills to handle, transform, understand and use large data volumes.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong team player, with a can-do attitude and problem-resolution focus
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to lead multiple requirements at the same time.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish is a plus.
