A Snapshot of Your Day
The Piping Site Project Manager oversees the installation of all piping systems in the power plant. In this role, you will actively guide the piping installation contractors, ensuring the work is completed safely and on schedule, meeting the specified quality standards. You will manage a team of both expatriate and local site engineers, coordinating all piping-related issues with the corresponding engineering departments and other installation managers on site.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage all aspects of piping installation, including Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), commercial aspects, progress tracking, quality control, claims management, and technical aspects.
- Oversee erection contractors within your scope of responsibility to ensure that project objectives are met.
- Lead and motivate a team of expatriate and local site engineers to achieve project goals.
- Handle project controlling tasks such as time scheduling, supervision of works, progress monitoring, final measurements, system handovers, invoice releases, contract status updates, weekly reporting, and risk/opportunity management.
- Coordinate and organize section engineers and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Control and initiate staff deployment in coordination with the mechanical Site Manager to optimize resource utilization.
- Manage interfaces with engineering teams, customers, owners, and third parties to ensure seamless project integration.
- Examine Method Statements provided by contractors for compliance with site regulations and work permit procedures, and report any deficiencies.
- Provide and agree on solutions to eliminate deficiencies and ensure project continuity.
- Compile field erection documentation, including "as-built" documentation, and fulfill duties as the "responsible site manager" in accordance with local law.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Min.10 years of post-graduate experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong functional management, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills, such as German is an advantage.
- Knowledge of international Health and Safety Standards and respective international codes/standards.
- Familiarity with welding procedures and quality standards.
- Cultural awareness and adaptability.
- Willingness to accept worldwide assignments for extended durations (up to 2 years).
