Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Project Lead Engineer in Houston, TX to define the requirements of major buyouts, e.g. motor, gear, gas turbine and coupling equipment by authoring the technical specifications and defining all requirements for the purchased equipment.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Provide technical support and warranty account administration for equipment supplied.
  • Define internal and external document schedules and load into the documentation database.
  • Coordinate interfaces between engineering departments and vendors.
  • Monitor internal engineering & vendor progress and escalate issues for resolution.
  • Review all client-issued documentation for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Review process and instrumentation diagrams, bills of material, wiring schematics, rotor dynamic reports, test agendas, inspection and test plans, and project schedules.
  • Lead and provide timely resolutions for all internal technical queries on assigned projects.
  • Evaluate documents, customer change requests, establish cost, schedules, delivery impact for all changes, submit to the project manager for approval and monitor the implementation of said changes.
  • Ensure that the deliverables and milestones are met by applying knowledge of gas turbines and electric motor drive applications.
  • Collaborate directly with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing.
  • Finalize and clarify codes, standards, and project specifications applicable to the assigned project and review design to ensure compliance.
  • 20% domestic travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: design/build/installation of gas turbine and motor driven compressor packages;
  • Gas turbine operation and associated auxiliary systems;
  • Compressor designs & operating principles;
  • Compressor auxiliary system operation and requirements;
  • Process applications for compressors;
  • High voltage electric motor drives;
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment in the oil & gas industry;
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to gas turbines and compressors.
  • 20% domestic travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted.
