A Snapshot of Your Day 
 
As an Obsolescence Manager (f/m/d) your task is to ensure that our service portfolio and the products and components always meet the latest technological requirements. You will work closely with various departments such as Purchasing, Production and Development to monitor the life cycle of products and minimize risks associated with obsolete parts. Your daily work includes analyzing market and technology trends in order to identify potential obsolescence problems at an early stage and take appropriate measures. To do this, you will develop and implement parts sourcing and inventory strategies to ensure that we have access to alternative sources or spare parts when needed. Finally, you will play a key role in communicating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure that our products are always competitive and sustainable.
 
 
How You’ll Make an Impact  
  • Technical project management and control of phase-out processes for transmission and distribution service products 
  • Develop and implement obsolescence management strategies
  • Monitor and manage the life cycle of products and services
  • Lead the obsolescence management committee to find economic solutions 
  • Create business cases and coordinate the resulting tasks with the interface partners 
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operation and transition 
  • Provide expert advice on obsolescence management to stakeholders
  • Support development (make or buy) of IT tool to track sub suppliers systematically
 
What You Bring   
  • University degree in the field of Engineering, Industrial engineering or similar, or completed vocational training combined with extensive relevant professional experience 
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of obsolescence management or product developement 
  • Strong understanding of product life cycle management, technical knowledge about energy supply systems is an advantage
  • Excellent strategic planning and project management skills
  • Business fluent in English, German language skills are an advantage 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, initiative and customer orientation 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe (10%)
