About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Within the global purchasing organization, you will independently perform NDT and dimensional inspections on components for generators, gas and steam turbines, often in collaboration with suppliers. Your duties will include conducting inspections in line with specifications, as well as technically and formally reviewing the accompanying documentation. Typically, NDT is executed at supplier locations. Should you identify any deviations from supplier results, you will be responsible for clearly describing these discrepancies in technical terms, effectively communicating them, and coordinating further actions with the cross-departmental team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsibility for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of non-destructive tests and dimensional inspections on generators, gas and steam turbines components.
- Supplier qualification, development and active participation in the quality improvement of suppliers and purchased parts.
- Avoiding quality problems by developing preventive measures for suppliers.
- Methods for quality assurance and analyzing the causes of defects and initiating appropriate corrective measures together with suppliers.
- Implementation of preventive SQM methods and risk management in supplier-related processes, projects and products.
- Proactive collaboration with a distributed team and internal partners.
What You Bring
- Bachelors or technical degree in mechanical, engineering or in a related field. CWI, CWE or similar certification is a must.
- Certified to ASNT-TC-1A, ISO9712 or similar in VT, MT, PT and UT to at least Level II required, LT desirable.5+ years of relevant professional experience in the NDT of LSF components or in a related role.
- Experienced in DGS method. Profound knowledge in the application of quality methods, such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA. Very good collaboration and communication skills required. Confident handling of MS Office applications, SAP is preferred.
