Weekday Night Shift: Monday - Thursday 2:30 pm - 1:00 am

A Snapshot of Your Day

Certified NDE (Nondestructive Examination) Level II in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), among others, to provide inspection services both in-process and at final to drawing, specification and/or standard operating procedure within Fort Payne Siemens Energy Electrical Components Plant.

Detailed documentation of all findings and results is encouraged via Quality Control Instruction, Quality Notification, or Service Notifications.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Conduct a variety of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques on Large Generator Components, evaluate critical to quality (CTQ) measurements using standard and specialized gauging, and document findings comprehensively.
  • Communicate findings and collaborate with engineers to update Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Instructions; validate and timely upload NDE reports.
  • Train QA Technicians on visual inspection (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), penetrant testing (PT), and phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) to maintain and elevate certification standards.
  • Manage NDT support equipment, including maintenance, calibration of UT equipment, and propose improvements to enhance the work environment and safety practices.
  • Work flexibly, prepared to change shifts temporarily for training or production needs, report safety concerns promptly, and be available for overtime and weekend work as required.

What You Bring

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or related science field. Or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Must be level II certified in UT & PAUT. Experience with Boroscoping techniques and Level II in PT is desirable. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years NDE experience.
  • Meet Siemens Energy Level II certification requirements in the specific NDE method through testing and passing the specific, general, and practical exams. Provide objective evidence of hours and level II certification letter or documentation. Must be able to maintain their level II status.
  • May be required to travel occasionally in this position.
  • Experience with gauging, drawings, specification, standard operating procedures. Familiar with the metric system for measurement.
  • Digital literacy: Microsoft Office proficiency is a requirement. SAP knowledge is a plus.
