The world of logistics today is characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration across transportation, procurement, planning, production, technology, warehousing, and distribution teams. As a Material Planner with Siemens Energy, you are actively involved in supporting innovation in material flow, material planning, production support, and the introduction and operation of accountability platforms needed for the Charlotte Power Transformer plant. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Material Planner will also be accountable for supporting insulation materials, tanks, and silicon steel, ensuring availability, coordination, and alignment with production needs. Candidate will exhibit strengths in planning applications, problem solving, conflict management, analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and a strong commitment to a diverse team working toward common goals

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Drive operational success by enforcing industry standards, organizing robust processes, and implementing lean, standardized principles for logistics teams.

• Develop and optimize value added material flow processes to enhance production cohesion and efficiency.

• Lead planning activities including material planning horizons, on time delivery KPIs, inventory analysis, and demand forecasting for power transformer materials.

• Maintain and update MRP Master Data to ensure system accuracy, planning reliability, and seamless execution of material requirements.

• Evaluate material and supplier risks, analyzing lead times and supporting supplier scorecard reviews in collaboration with procurement, logistics, and supplier quality teams.

• Identify at risk materials, coordinate escalations, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate communication between procurement and project teams on technical constraints such as lot sizes, MOQs, and warehousing.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience within supply chain or logistics, with a background in material planning, logistics analytics or industrial distribution.

• Associates degree preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and Power BI. Experience in SAP and WMS and in material management, material planning, accounting strategies, and prioritization.

• A well-developed knowledge of long-term material planning strategies, planning horizons, and planning implications.

• Ability to maintain consistent, concise and documented communication between supplier base and supporting Siemens’ team members. Develop and coach suppliers to meet shipping & delivery deadlines.

• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
