A Snapshot of Your Day

For our Offshore Legal Department in Denmark (Vejle or Ballerup), we are looking for a Senior Maritime Contract Manager or Senior Maritime Legal Counsel to handle a variety of contracting activities for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Marine Operations, Maritime & Major Programs, Transportation, Procurement, Insurance, Offshore Sales, and Project Management departments, and provide support for other legal matters (excluding HR and Tax matters).

You will collaborate with internal business partners and the Siemens Gamesa Legal Department to handle various maritime contracts.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Acting as a consistent, impartial, and trusted legal and contractual adviser in all respects. Providing mentorship and direction reflecting good judgment and substantive legal knowledge and expertise.
  • Advising internal business partners on, and supporting the preparation, drafting, negotiations, and handling of Project Agreement terms and conditions (including but not limited to charter parties for a variety of vessel classes, helicopter services agreements). frequently based on Siemens Gamesa’s standard terms and conditions or industry standard templates including BIMCO WINDTIME, BIMCO SUPPLYTIME, BIMCO ASVTIME, BIMCO NYPE (time charters), as well as BIMCO HEAVYLIFTVOY (voyage charters) (voyage charters).
  • Assisting legal colleagues and internal business partners with maritime legal aspects of turbine supply agreements, service & warranty agreements, and any amendments thereto.
  • Evaluating all contractual and commercial risks in relation to a project, and presentation of such for approval to management in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • Clarification and coordination of issues with other legal colleagues, Sales, Procurement, Maritime Departments, Project Management, Insurance, and other specialist departments throughout any project.
  • Contributing to the training of colleagues and business partners of all levels on specific maritime legal topics.

What You Bring

  • A qualified Attorney (Legal Counsel) with at least a Master of Laws or Master of Business Laws degree with substantial years of relevant legal experience.
  • Practical experience in-house or at international law firms; admission as a solicitor in England & Wales and/or a degree in/familiarity with maritime issues and/or contracts governed by common law would be an advantage..
  • Experienced in structuring, preparing, and negotiating various commercial contracts, with experience from the maritime industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Bimco Windtime, Bimco Supplytime and chartering of installation, jack-up, service offshore, walk-to-work, crew transfer vessels, Bimco heavyliftvoy and other voyage charter parties; helicopter leases, and helicopter services agreements would be an advantage.
  • A skilled negotiator with strong persuasion skills, proven deal-closing ability, and quick problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills for connecting with internal and external partners throughout different levels of the organization.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity and ability to address issues directly, including providing impartial and independent advice and challenging conventional wisdom when appropriate.
  • You succeed in an evolving field, handle fast-paced work, and offer support.
