We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Department Manager to lead operations in Large Power Transformer production. This role requires a strong commitment to safety-first leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will drive performance, collaborate across teams, and support strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency and reliability. How you’ll make an impact
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA and Siemens Energy safety standards, promote a strong safety culture, and maintain full compliance with EHS regulations through training, audits, and risk assessments.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily manufacturing activities, coordinate production schedules, and monitor key performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory) to meet customer commitments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management to resolve production issues and align operations with business goals.
- Leadership and Team Development: Manage and mentor production staff, support workforce planning, and foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and other methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks, improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance process efficiency.
- Budget and Cost Control: Support budget planning, control production costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining safety and quality standard
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a leadership or people management role; experience in transformer manufacturing or heavy electrical equipment is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Skilled in production planning, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (certification preferred), TPM, OEE, and continuous improvement; strong knowledge of OSHA and EHS compliance.
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or HANA, and experience with quality control, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Leadership & Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams; strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; collaborative and results-driven.
- Language & Mobility: Fluent in English with willingness to travel occasionally and relocate for the position.
