A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us in making a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced environment! You will tackle various technical challenges related to complex gas turbine combustion components. Participate in daily Gemba meetings to highlight part and project priorities, ensuring alignment with both standard production and development initiatives. Collaborate closely with operators on the shop floor to establish a robust manufacturing process in anticipation of new product releases. Engage daily with design and service engineering colleagues on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) topics for both new and refurbished combustion hardware.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement product-specific metal joining processes for manufacturing complex gas turbine combustion components.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor through technical instructions and project briefings.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers on the use of fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with design and service engineering colleagues on process improvements and new product development and introduction.

What You Bring

  • A BS in Mechanical or Materials Science Engineering is required, along with 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a fabrication and machine shop environment; candidates with more experience may qualify for a higher level.
  • Strong technical skills in metal joining of Nickel-based alloys, including welding, brazing, and preferably diffusion bonding.
  • Significant experience in heat treatment vacuum furnace operations and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, preferably Siemens NX, with experience in fixture design, sheet metal forming, and ideally robotic programming.
  • Experience in improving manufacturing processes, facilities, and production planning, along with knowledge of tooling and equipment selection.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, understanding GD&T, non-destructive and destructive testing techniques, and familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma philosophies.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team
Through our Gas Services division, we enhance and innovate conventional and renewable power supply. We are dedicated to reducing carbon emissions of existing assets and developing technologies that transform power generation applications. Specifically, the Combustion Component Manufacturing team is responsible for manufacturing transition ducts and combustor baskets that deliver hot gas into the first turbine stage of the gas turbine. We work closely with combustion design engineering to develop cutting-edge technology, as demonstrated in the newly released 9000HL gas turbine with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants.
