About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler with Siemens Energy, you will take on a pivotal role as the primary owner of the plant’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). In this position, you will leverage the CMMS along with various support systems and processes to meticulously plan, coordinate, and optimize the plant’s overall maintenance efforts. Your responsibilities will include analyzing maintenance data, scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are executed efficiently to minimize downtime. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance maintenance strategies and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Proactively coordinate all major preventative, proactive, and project maintenance activities within the maintenance team and across the plant, while tracking all reactive maintenance efforts to ensure operational efficiency.
- Screen incoming work orders to identify the scope of work, required resources (including major parts, skill levels, and safety risks), and plan accordingly to accommodate requirements and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with various plant teams to ensure timely scheduling and execution of work orders, ensuring that all required CMMS documentation is complete and accurate.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to assist in the management of the maintenance team, including after-action, utilization, safety, PM compliance, and work order backlog reports.
- Ensure all legacy plant equipment is assigned an asset ID and criticality level (A, B, or C), and that new equipment is assigned the same prior to or immediately upon installation.
- Develop and load PM procedures, tasks, and schedules into the CMMS based on OEM recommendations and plant inputs, and coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure timely completion of scheduled PMs.
- Act as the main point of contact for coordinating maintenance and equipment engineering project activities, and oversee the parts flow process to ensure timely delivery and efficient repairs and project installations.
- Track reactive work order trends to drive a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process aimed at identifying and addressing high downtime and repeat failure equipment issues, while developing maintenance-driven performance metrics to monitor equipment and maintenance process performance.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent technical background, with a high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s Degree (or higher) is preferred.
- Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) with a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with strong data analysis capabilities.
- Very strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks on time, and a goal-oriented thought process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to perform technical research through online resources, in-plant investigations, and consultations with technical representatives.
- Ability to accurately interpret OEM manuals, drawings, schematics, and prints, and to lead projects or project teams while demonstrating a commitment to safety and driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA) improvement processes.
- This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
