About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Long-Term Projects (LTP) with CFE involving Performance Guarantees requires a Resident Engineer who will coordinate maintenance outages, coordinate and participate in meetings with the Client, provide responses to technical inquiries, expedite all actions necessary to resolve forced outages and return the units to service, supervise routine maintenance, periodically review logs and operations jointly with the Client, and perform on-site representation duties for Siemens Energy, both from a technical and a commercial standpoint.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, Electrical, or Chemical Engineer, with strong verbal and written skills in Spanish, free of grammatical and spelling errors. Intermediate verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, root cause analysis capability; ability to perform real-time troubleshooting, and capacity to clearly describe problems and situations, both verbally and in writing.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license, and possession of a passport and U.S. VISA.
- Cost- and schedule-aware, with a strong sense of urgency and COMMITMENT.
- Resides near Tula de Allende, State of Hidalgo (within < 60 minutes); and attends the plant daily (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00).
- Flexible schedule availability, including occasional nighttime and/or weekend calls and travel to the plant. Availability to travel (Querétaro, Sonora, Mexico City Metropolitan Area, Monterrey, Orlando).
What You Bring
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Outstanding and exceptional team player; capable of handling uncertainty, lack of definition, “gray areas,” contingencies, and other situations that may generate work-related stress, while maintaining strong professional presence, poise, diplomacy (“tact”), and effective interpersonal relationships.
- Self-motivated to serve as the sole Siemens Energy representative at a third-party power plant (CFE); proactive and self-managed, while always respecting contractual boundaries and organizational hierarchies (not a “loose cannon”), and extremely responsible and detail-oriented, both in field (on-site) activities and in reporting and follow-up.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proven experience in:
- Thermal power plants, specifically turbines and generators and their auxiliary systems; mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems (T3000 desirable).
- Maintenance planning, tracking, and execution in thermal power plants; predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance; industrial safety.
- Activity tracking, implementation of plans and routes, work logs, warehouse/materials management; response to equipment and system failures; handling of work requests from different departments.
- Use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and standard office software such as Microsoft Office; experience managing direct reports and unionized personnel (SUTERM or equivalent).
