About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Sustainable Energy Systems in Orlando, FL to coordinate all mechanical engineering activities in the project and ensure the timely delivery of detailed layouts of electrolysis plants, steel structure designs, and piping routes.
- Prepare specification documents for the electrolyzer array manufacturing and assembly process and the supervision of the manufacturing and assembly activities.
- Review structural-mechanical simulations and stress analyses.
- Coordinate all mechanical engineering tasks in R&D and customer projects.
- Contribute to negotiations with suppliers and customers.
- Plan and coordinate fabricators, steel structures, and piping designs.
- Prepare plant layouts, detailed installation plans, and specification documents for manufacturing and procurement.
- Support proposal preparations for competitive, high-quality customer-oriented bids for hydrogen generation plants.
- Execute design reviews, develop design guidelines, and implement continuous improvement measures.
- 5% domestic/international travel required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 6 years of experience.
- Full term of experience must include: 3D design and creating 3D plant layouts;
- Experience in piping design;
- 3D design tools, preferably NX;
- Performing structural-mechanical simulations and conducting stress analyses;
- Managing CAD data of large projects and data exchange between 3D design tools and layout planning tools; and
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly works.
- Experience must also include: Teamcenter PLM360.
- 5% domestic/international travel required.
