Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Lead Designer in Hamilton, NJ to generate layouts, detailed models and drawings of complex steam turbine products using steam turbine design acceptance criteria.

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Review, mark-up and check detail drawings, bills of material, part numbers and other related drawings.
  • Follow established globus, team center, and SAP product lifecycle management procedures.
  • Consult frequently with project manager, project engineer, design engineer, design drafting, marketing & sales and operations.
  • Process design changes with engineering, manufacturing engineering, machinist, assembler, and supplier consultation as needed.
  • Estimate quotes of steam path components for proposal and order support.
  • Act as liaison with factory and supplier network and other internal customers concerning drawings, including work assignments to overseas support center in India.
  • Work to meet on time delivery needs of the various projects, orders and quote requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective action on non-conformances.
  • 10% domestic/international travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days/week.

Salary: $118,165/year; 40 hrs/wk, M-F

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field and 8 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: knowledge of steam turbine design requirements, including layout designs, assembly clearances, and adherence to engineering specifications;
  • Applying standards and acceptance criteria for steam turbine designs;
  • NX 3D modeling/drafting practices;
  • Globus / teamcenter PLM system & practices;
  • AutoCad mechanical drafting;
  • Knowledge of SAP/PS1/OPP systems;
  • Drafting practices using ANSI Y14.5; API 611 & API 612 design standards;
  • ASTM material specifications; and
  • Using GD&T dimensioning practices.
  • 10% domestic/international travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days/week.
