About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Day in the life of a Hybrid Marine Propulsion Engineer would consist of sizing an alternator to couple to a diesel engine. Working with end-product providers such as diesel engineer manufacturers (Caterpillar). You would be asked to evaluate a drives quote for technical feasibility. You will be working closely with Automation, drives and electrical engineers to fulfill all project requirements. You could also be on your way to a vessel for Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT) or on a flight to Norway, Germany or Finland to attend a supplier FAT.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Identify technical requirements for proposals
- Project technical requirements management
- Procurement support as needed. Technically evaluate vendor responses. Writing technical specs for equipment
- Testing and Commissioning electrical and electronic equipment
- Perform feed studies for proposals
What You Bring
- ASNT Level 2 Penetrent Testing, ASNT Level 2 Magnetic Particle Testing, ASNT Visual Inspection Experience, ASNT Ultrasonic testing Experience.
- 10 Years Dimensional Inspection Experience (Rotating Equipment Preferred)
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in marine propulsion systems with focus on hybrid or electric solutions. Previous experience in crafting, developing, and implementing marine propulsion systems.
- Consistent record of leading complex engineering projects, ideally in the marine industry. Familiarity with Siemens marine propulsion solutions, including SISHIP systems, electric drives, and energy storage technologies
