About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will conduct test operations within our Power Transformers Test Field, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and performance, along with the utmost operational safety standards. As a Test Engineer, you will work along with test engineers and test technicians, closely together with customers and with the engineering, production, quality and project execution teams. You will develop, implement and improve test procedures, tackle problems and collaborate to maintain a positive and safe work environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Execute high‑voltage testing for power transformers in compliance with standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Ensure safe test operations and proactively address safety risks.
- Develop, improve, and troubleshoot test procedures, systems, and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve test issues and support root cause analysis.
- Maintain calibrated test equipment and accurate test documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and early integration of test requirements in product development.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field of engineering with 1+ years of experience in high voltage electrical testing within the power transformer manufacturing industry or high voltage related fields. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level.
- Proven understanding of test standards, quality control principles, and methodologies specific to transformer manufacturing.
- Experience with test equipment, data acquisition systems, and IT tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to work different shift schedules.
- Willingness to travel abroad for training.
- If not already located in the Charlotte, NC area, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate (relocation assistance may be provided).
